1. I bought this rice cooker for myself since I live in an apartment. I find the handiest feature to be the timer. The timer allows me to set the unit to cook rice at a later time and keep it warm so that it will be ready to eat when I get home from work. I also use the steamer tray simultaneously to cook fresh vegetables such as brussel sprouts, asparagus, broccolini, and red and yellow peppers.

1. We are very pleased with the performance of this rice cooker. We bought it to replace an old Hitachi cooker that served us well, but was a bear to clean because of lack of a nonstick surface. We also wanted the ability to cook brown rice easily. The Panasonic cleans up beautifully and cooks both white and brown rice to perfection. A cool feature is the cooking time countdown, where the LCD display shows the remaining cooking time. Brown rice cooking time is 2 hours, and the countdown doesn’t begin until 13 minutes is left. We thought this a little strange, but it’s designed that way and it’s stated as such in the manual.
2. The Panasonic SR-NA10 is a fantastic appliance for preparing rice. We’ve used several different rice cookers in the past, but none have been as versatile as this unit. Very easy to use interface, great non-stick rice pan, easy to clean, and the easy to read countdown timer allows you time everything getting to the table together. As for food quality, let me summarize like this: Our children both now love brown rice.

1. I’ve had a number of rice cookers of different sizes. My Panasonic has lasted over 20 years, and my Zojirushi looks like it’ll last just as long, while my South Bend gave up the ghost after only a year. Go with the top Japanese models; they’re made for day-in and day out cooking.
2. I’ve used less expensive rice cookers, but they don’t measure up to the Zojirushi rice cookers. I used to have the 10 cup model, but that one was a little too large for me (it would be great if you’re cooking rice for more than 5 or 6 people). This 6-cup cooker is perfect whether you are making 1 cup or 6. Just put the rice in (remember to wash it first), add water up to the line indicated, and push start … when it turns off, you have perfect rice. No more boiling water, stirring, boiling over, or burned pans!

1. The Zojirushi NS-LAC05 is everything we hoped for and more. We wanted a rice cooker that would make great rice, that could handle smaller amounts of rice, that had a timer, and could handle a variety of different rices.
This rice cooker is a dream.
-It’s attractive. We’ve already received compliments from guests.
-Its footprint is very reasonable for a small kitchen.
-With a thick, stick proof bowl the rice doesn’t burn to any spot and clean up is simple.
-It easily makes rice for 2 adults (1.5 of the “cups” for us) but could handle 4 adults (3 “cups”) with normal eating habits. Note: the cups aren’t full size cups of rice.
-It does a great job on a variety of rices; there are different settings for different rices and the measurement markings appear correct for different rices. So far we’ve tried long grain brown, medium grain brown, sushi, jasmine, white basmati, brown basmati, and brown/white mixes. We haven’t had a bad batch of rice.
-The computer’s fuzzy logic algorithm (i.e. “Micom Neuro Fuzzy”) constantly adjusts the temperature so the rice comes out perfect every time. I also think the cooker starts out at a low temperature and gradually steps up the heat but I’m not 100% sure.
-The heavy bowl seems to distribute heat perfectly and there’s no scorched rice or crust attached to the bowl.
-The timer is convenient for setting the rice to be completed at a specific time, at which point it keeps your rice warm. We’ve found it completes cooking within a minute or two of the timer setting. There are two timer settings that you can adjust…presumably so you could have your rice prepared for breakfast & dinner in Japan.
-The retractable cord is a nice feature.
-There’s even a little holder for the included rice paddle that attaches to the side of the cooker.
2. Received this Zojirushi 3-cup Micom as a self-holiday gift a week ago. Since then, I’ve made sushi rice, basmati, brown & wild medley, along with various types of dal (basmati and red/yellow lentils with curry) and mujadarah (basmati and green lentils with carmelized onions). I’ve also used the warming part of things to gently steam scallops on top of rice for a New Year’s treat. Yum! Soon I’ll try veggies and flavored broths.

1. These barely sound as good as $20 earbuds do (still less bass), but they are a lot more comfortable and easy; slap the helmet on and plug in the sound and your ready to commute. BTW, been commuting by cycle off and on for 10 years.
2. These speakers Rock! They are much higher in fidelity than others I have tried/owned and can easily be heard on my motorcycle even at high speed. The cabling and volume control are higher quality and look like they will wear longer than others (less expensive ones will flap in the wind and eventually loosen wiring connections). Installing in helmet is VERY EASY and takes only a minute with no extra pieces or parts required. I use mine with my iPod and it sounds great in all riding conditions. I leave my iPod volume at max and simply use the inline volume control to turn it down. Full volume is too loud even when wearing earplugs underneath them. WAY BETTER THAN WEARING EARBUDS!!! Put your helmet on and forget about earbuds falling out or slipping. These would also work great for other sports that require wearing a helmet - like bicycling, snowboarding, ATVs, etc. Great speakers for the money!

These helmet speakers are thin, provide high volume, and are uniquely designed for helmets. They plug into any radio, MP3, or CD player that has a standard 1/8″ output jack. They are very comfortable inside your helmet. Just press them into your helmet’s ear pockets or secure them to the helmet lining with the attached Velcro or adhesive Velcro pads. 1. The great thing about this is that if you’ve ever struggled with ear-buds, or something similar you’ll never have to do so again! I have basically forgotten that these are in my helmet, the setup is seamless. The wires fit perfectly under the padding in most helmets and the female connect is then attached with velcro to the underside lip on the side of your helmet, so when not in use you really don’t notice it. When you need it..reach up and connect your music male connector. Piece of cake!
2. I bought these for my ski helmet. I could not find anything else and thought I could make these work. I was right! They fit in my helmet (a Giro 540) almost perfectly and sound better than I expected. I looked at the various ski helmet manufacturers and the stuff they have only works in certain models and is more expensive. These work well and should work in just about any helmet. Well worth the price. I would think they could sell a lot more of them if they broadened the subject beyond motorcycles.

1. The drive looks well-built and sturdy with a brushed aluminum case. The backside, however - where all the cables are plugged in - seems to be made from extremely thin plastic which immediately gives when only touched slightly. It is true plug-and-play, the drive was immediately and quickly recognized, no problems there. I reformatted from FAT32 to NTFS which took a while but nothing out of the ordinary given that it had to format almost 500 GB. From what I can tell, the drive is very fast which makes it a pleasure to use when having to work with huge files.
2. This is a GREAT external hard drive. It’s fast (7200 RPM), can stream a movie straight off it and simultaneously backup a movie with very few lag spikes. It’s quiet, only hear it every once in a while when it’s doing some heavy duty writing / reading. It’s Reliable, haven’t had a single problem with it yet. Best of all, the price is right. I wholeheartedly recommend this external drive to everyone. Just plug the usb cable and plug in the ac/adapter and you’re ready to roll. In fact, I’m going to go get another one myself.
