Customer feedback:

A. I was looking for a laptop that would have the graphics features and speed of a desktop PC, and this is it! It handles my Adobe CS4 products and web design software beautifully. I bought the three-year warranty…expensive but I was told I’d be disappointed in support the first year otherwise. I plan to have this product a long time. It is sleek and beautiful. Finding a carrying case was a challenge, but the Toshiba 18.4″ does the job. After much research and reading many reviews, I can see why there are very few complaints against this HP Pavilion!

B. The cons:
1) No roll back of OS as drivers are scarce for XP
2) Finish is easily tarnished leading to pseudo-professional look. Gateways ‘fingerprint resistant’ finish around for years.
3) Most jacks are to the sides leading to an untidy setup. Some newer standard jacks not labelled .
4) Blu-ray ROM should have been included for price
5) No Installation/Driver Disk included in case hard drive files are unuseable.
6) keys are easily mistaken as it difficult to feel the boundaries of keys.
7) Screen is somewhat dimmer than expected for this class of machine
8) Alternate function keys are difficult to discern as they are all in WHITE
9) backlit keys would be a lot more useful than the backlit HP logo

The Pros:
1) meets performance specifications. 3D rendering in Autodesk Revit is brisk.
2) wide screen for those doing Arch/Engineering drawings.
3) temperature is lower than i would expect for 7200rpm HDD and quad core processor i.e. cool to hands
4) relatively quiet fan sounds more like ambient noise
5) no latches to break during open and close process
6) Full keyboard is a plus to those using programs for Accounting, Engineering,
7) Relatively slim and average 8+lbs weight considering size.
8) built-in camera has a built in light
9) sound is crisp and full of depth with subwoofer built-in
10)Crome looking accents add aesthetics are compensate for ‘dust and sweat magnet’ finish
11)Screen is crisp although I still believe additional brightness would welcomed by most users
12) although I believe keys should be better constructed as they are the primary input they are adequately firm to the touch to compensate for the lack in chamfered or indented or dished keys.

Customer feedback:

1. Logitech has some great products, this one is no exception. I own an Alienware 17″ laptop over 16 lbs. and this stand holds it with no problem, the only thing is that computer doesn’t rest centered with the stand due to the laptop supports and part of the cooling vents are blocked, but still computer breathes fine; so this might be a little problem with some computers. The 4 built in USB ports are a nice feature and the aesthetics of this product is just nice, it has matte and gloss plastic and a little gray trim on the back.
I do recommend this stand, just be adviced that your laptop supports might interfere with being centered with the stand (mine doesn’t unbalance being off centered); and I can tell you it can surely hold big heavy laptops.

2. Nice looking solid piece of equipment which does what it says. Fits my 17″ Dell Laptop securely and provides enough extra USB ports for all my necessary peripherals. Unit breaks down easily for travel purposes. Another nice unit by Logitech !

Logitech Portable Lapdesk N315

You love your notebook. It gives you the freedom to work, play and stay connected anywhere. But balancing it on your lap can leave you cramped, overheated, and without a work surface to use your mouse. That’s where the Logitech Portable Lapdesk comes in. This ingenious little on-the-go lapdesk shields your lap from notebook heat. So you stay cool and comfortable, even during marathon notebook sessions on the couch, campus steps, or seat at the airport gate. And thanks to the retractable mouse pad, now your can use your mouse without having to sit at a desk or table. Leave it to Logitech to bring the laptop back where it was meant to be—your lap.
Made of rugged heat-resistant material, your lapdesk prevents notebook heat from passing through to your legs and knees. Feel cool and comfortable, even after hours of using your notebook.
Tired of tricky laptop touch pads? Use your mouse anywhere with a built-in mouse pad that slides out for mouse use and slides in for compact storage.

Customer feedback:

1. What gets hotter than a volcano and puts out a huge amount of heat? A MacBook G4. So when looking for a “portable stand” for my laptop, I’m definitely looking for something that’s the equivalent of a hot pad, light enough to not smash my leg flat, strong enough to withstand being dropped, “sticky” enough to hold a heavy MacBook in place, and durable enough to make it through the trauma of baggage handlers. From the looks of the portable lapdesk, you might be mislead to think it’s a flimsy little plastic piece that’s about as protective as a wet paper towel. However, after hours of sitting with the MacBook on my lap, I only felt a minimal amount of warmth. If you’ve ever had a hot laptop on your lap, you can understand the gratitude I felt for the little lapdesk. The coating of the lapdesk holds your laptop securely in place – allowing you to shift your position without losing your laptop. Durability isn’t an issue with this lapdesk either. So far, it has withstood being dropped from the lap, knocked off the table (with the MacBook on it) by a hyper dog, tripped over by the non-attentive teen and stepped on by the tween.

2. I’ve used my Logitech Portable Desk for a couple of days now with a 15″ MacBook Pro and an old 13″ iBook. I hauled it in a backpack to and from work. I’ve put the mouse tray to task. All in all, I have to say this is by far the best lapdesk I’ve ever used and at half the price. It’s incredibly light and does a great job of keeping the heat off my lap. The surface area is precisely the same size as my MacBook Pro and grips the computer well. There are also non-skid bars on the bottom of the desk that keep it in place.
The mouse tray has a beveled edge that prevents your mouse from slipping off. It’s pretty solid for a slide out. Note that if you use the Logitech Portable Lapdesk with a corded mouse, make sure you have a USB port that’s not on the same side of the computer you mouse on. There is very little space there and I was forced to use a mouse with a long cable so I could plug it into the other side of my laptop (i.e., I couldn’t use my mighty mouse). Most people can get around this with a Bluetooth mouse, unfortunately my employer disables Bluetooth on our company-issued laptops.

Logitech Notebook Cooling Pad (N100)

From the Manufacturer Improve airflow around your notebook. Some things are better with a little heat – like salsa or a day at the beach. However, your trusted and beloved notebook computer is definitely not one of them. Whether set up on your desk – with or without an external keyboard and mouse – or on your lap, the USB-powered Logitech Cooling Pad N100 distributes air quietly and evenly under the case of your notebook, helping to protect you from the heat.
The cooling pad looks good in any room of your home, as the colors and shape were inspired by nature. Its versatile design with rear air intake allows for steady, unobstructed airflow. The enclosed, durable construction protects the internal fan from dust and damage. Plus, it’s designed for efficiency, with minimal impact on your notebook’s battery power.
The slotted surface, with virtually silent airflow, allows the USB-powered fan to distribute air quietly and evenly under your notebook.
The rear air intake allows for steady, unobstructed airflow – whether on your lap or on a desk.

Customer feedback:

1. I had low expectations for this, since I haven’t had great experience with cooling pads. They only sort-of work in terms of heat dissipation, and tend to be noisy (or become noisy as the parts wear in).
This one has so far been a very surprising change from the past. It’s very quiet, I’m not sure if what I hear is just my notebook, or the pad as well. So I was even more sceptical about the cooling, but it fooled me. So far, my hot-running Dell XPS has been running much cooler, even when I’m doing something cpu-intensive like playing chess.

2. My computer would get so hot while I watching movies or television shows on my computer that it would literally burn my leg. I didn’t even want to think about what it was doing to my computer! I’d been looking around for laptop coolers for some time, but the reviews on most were not exactly promising. For a while I almost bought the Belkin cooling pad, but there were several complaints about the location of the fan making it prone to being blocked (which is the problem I have with my computer’s fan already!). Then I came across the Logitech N100 cooling pad, and based on the positive reviews and rear air intake designed, I finally decided on this one, and man am I glad!
The first thing I noticed about the pad was how light it was. You won’t believe it until you lift it yourself. It weighs next to nothing. It looks nice, too, and will complement any computer. It’s plenty big enough to fit my 15.4 inch widescreen computer, and would probably easily fit a computer a couple inches wider. My computer didn’t slide on the surface, and it’s easy to move the computer while on the pad. They both lift easily together. The curved design leaves a nice area for air to come in under the laptop (one of the main reasons my computer got so hot while on my lap was because there was no space for air to get to the bottom) and it leaves a way for heat to escape. The genius part, however, is the rear air intake. It draws air in from the back, not from underneath the cooler. This is especially effective when I’m laying in bed. I can set the cooler on my plush comforter and air can still get in!
