Canon BU-20 Bluetooth Adapter

Customer feedback:

1. I purchased the BU-20 last week and am using it in my home network with a Mac G4 Laptop running OS 10.4.11. I also connect with my desktop G5 running OS 10.4.11. I plugged into my Canon Pixma 610 printer and within 2-3 minutes was up and running. No software needed. Just plug it in and go. You do not need to be a computer guru to use this device. Just make sure your computer is bluetooth compatible and your printer has a USB port to insert it in. On a Mac you just go to the Bluetooth Icon on top of the screen and scroll down to “Set Up A Bluetooth Device” and with just a few keystrokes you are in sync and start printing from most anywhere in your home. I do not know the max distance but I am printing in from about 30 feet through walls on the same floor. I have not measured the speed difference between hard wired and Blue Tooth but in my case it is very close. I also can print photos from my Motorola RAZR 2 cell phone wirelessly. I am very pleased as it does all I want it to and it is very very small. The newer Canon Printers like the 610 are equipped to handle the Blue Tooth device. Older models are not. Five stars from me.

2. This product works like a charm!! I can print from almost anywhere in my home (30′)

Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth Headset- Silver/Grey

These days, it seems that wireless Bluetooth headsets are a dime a dozen, but Aliph’s Jawbone stands apart from the pack not only due to its unique looks but also thanks to some seriously amazing noise canceling technology. Originally developed for DARPA (The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) to create a communication headset that would pick up voice in hostile environments, the Jawbone offers some of the best clarity from a Bluetooth headset we’ve experienced.
The Jawbone can be worn on either ear, and it comes with four earloops of varying sizes to fit your lobe. Made of solid metal with a rubber cover, they’re fairly comfortable around the ear. The trick, however, is getting it on over the ear, and this is the Jawbone’s biggest disappointment. Because it’s so stiff, you literally have to use both hands to try to slip it on over your ear. We tried the Jawbone in a number of different situations, and for the most part it worked flawlessly. Sitting at our desk with the stereo volume cranked up while playing The Chemical Brothers, our call partner was none the wiser. She didn’t hear any of the music coming through, and our voice came through strong on her end. While standing on a street corner, the undulations of traffic noise never made it through to our caller, while we noticed an uptick in volume with an increase in traffic noise.

Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth Headset- Silver/Grey

Product Features

* Product includes: Jawbone Bluetooth Headset ; Wall Charger ; USB Charger ; Earloops and earbuds in assroted sizes, and User & Warranty information
* Adaptive noise cancellation-adjusts your call’s volume after measuring ambient noise around you
* Eye-catching design
* The Jawbone can be worn on either ear and offers earloops in four different sizes
* Jawbone’s ergonomic design enhances the acoustic performance and keeps the device lightweight, stable and comfortable

Customer feedback:

1. Ok, for those of you that have the Jawbone or are looking to purchase it, let’s face it - it’s the best on the market period! The noise cancelling it can do is simply phenomenal! I know since I have had them all from Jabra, Motorolla, Plantronics, etc. We have all been there, if you are in your car, airport, or outside the background noise makes it very difficult for the other person to hear you. If you want to solve that, get the Jawbone!
Now for the problem. The biggest complaint is that it is hard to get the Jawbone to stay in your ear, get on your ear, or feel comfortable in your ear. Now for the fix. Buy some spare Jabra EarGels from the Jabra website under “Accessories” at $7 for a packet of 6! Jabra EarGels are designed to channel sound directly into the ear for perfect reception, so conversations sound clear and natural at both ends of the call. They are made of a translucent soft material shaped to sit snugly in your ear for a comfortable and secure fit. Jabra EarGels are hygienic and washable and come six in a pack - three sizes for left and right ears.
2. I have to say I was a somewhat skeptical about this product based on the reviews; however, since receiving it I have been extremely pleased. The range and clarity of this headset are phenominal. It’s crystal clear with the calls I’ve received and has been the same for the person on the other end. Everyone has asked me if I got a new phone. I’ve had no dropped calls and am able to pick up my phone, without having it physically on me, from any where in my house. I have a 3-level townhome. I found this out strictly by accident. I forgot I had the headset on and went to the basement. My cell phone rang and the headset jingled as it should. To my surprise when I picked up the call it was as clear as if I was right in front of the cell phone, on both ends.

BlueAnt Z9 Bluetooth Headset with Voice Isolation Technology

The Award Winning BlueAnt Z9 Dual Microphone Bluetooth Headset incorporates BlueAnt’s revolutionary world class Digital Signal Processing solution. With voice Isolation Technology, the Z9 provides outstanding noise suppression, wind noise reduction and echo cancellation, in both noisy and windy environments. The Z9 incorporates two Voice Isolation settings
a) Voice Isolation Standard’ for use in normal everyday environments providing a natural sounding voice while removing mild background noise and
b) Voice Isolation Max’ to provide superior intelligible voice clarity for use in extreme noise environments.
Escape the noise in your world with the NEW BlueAnt Z9 Bluetooth Headset and talk anywhere, anytime.

Customer feedback:

1. Just got the Z9 and have used it for about 10 hours under different conditions. Like others that have posted, I had other Bluetooth devices and they were poor performers. (Frankly, I think the Bluetooth designers could have done a much better job - but until something else comes along we’re stuck with the Bluetooth standard.) I especially liked that the company (BlueAnt) stood behind this headset with a two year guarantee — almost unheard of for any electronic product. They also encourage calling their support line if you experience any problems. This also shows how much they want the customer to be happy. Very rare and very welcome by me.
So far, I am extremely happy with the Z9. People on the other end say the sound is “near-land-line” quality. I’ve used it in the car with a loud muffler, outside with mild wind, and in a quite location. It was not a problem anywhere. I have yet to put it through extremes.
2. I have tried almost every brand of Bluetooth Headset on the market, but have not found one that meets my requirements until now. The Blueant Z9 is extremely lightweight and small. This makes it very comfortable, feels secure and does not flop around. The sound is loud enough that you do not have to increase the volume. The voice quality is clear and consistent. I have it paired with a Nokia 6555.
Now for some details. The Jawbone is by far the best for handling noise cancellation. However, the voice would sometimes be garbled or breakup. The Z9 does a good job on noise cancellation and the voice stays clear and does not breakup.

BlueAnt Supertooth Light Bluetooth Handsfree Speakerphone

Stylish in design, easy to use and with no installation requirements, the new BlueAnt Supertooth Light offers the latest in sun-visor mounted handsfree speakerphone technology. The BlueAnt Supertooth Light uses real-time audio to process any echo or background noise resulting in the improvement of the sound quality of the user’s voice regardless of whether the car is stationery or travelling at high speed. It also adjusts sound levels to compensate for loud engine noise or external noise created when the windows are wound down. Easily mounted on the car’s sun-visor, the BlueAnt Supertooth Light can be paired with up to five devices, supports voice dial activation, redial and call reject and also has a retractable sliding microphone.

Customer feedback:

1. First off, I could actually open the package without getting scissors. When I looked inside, they gave me a bonus “in-car vent mounted cell phone holder”. It’s actually not cheesy and is something that I will use to park my phone while I make calls. They also give you a AC and Car charger. Lots of companies like apple make you get this separately so I was happy that it was included.
OK, so all this is great, but how well does it work? I followed the easy directions to pair it with my Treo 680 and 30 seconds later I was making calls. I rang my wife in the car with the AC blasting and the window rolled halfway down to test it. We could hear each other no problem. I asked her if I sounded OK and she had no complaints.
2. I purchased voice recognition software for my HP iPAQ HW690 combined with this BlueAnt device gives me true hands free operation of my cell phone while driving. The device easily connects via Bluetooth. Battery life is very good. Sound is loud and clear. Clips easily to your sunvisor, although it did come with an alternative mounting clip.

BlueAnt Supertooth Light Bluetooth Handsfree Speakerphone

* Pairs with up to 5 devices

Garmin Mobile 20 GPS Receiver for Smartphone

Time to smarten up that smartphone of yours by adding powerful GPS navigation and hands-free calling capabilities. The Garmin Mobile 20 is a Bluetooth-enabled wireless GPS navigation system that supports Nokia, Windows Mobile, and Treo smartphones, allowing you to navigate and make calls while you and your smartphone are on the go in your vehicle.
The Mobile 20 consists of an integrated phone mount, called the GPS 20SM, that accommodates nearly any size phone. The mount features a built-in, highly sensitive GPS receiver with the powerful SiRF Star chipset for fast acquisition times and accuracy, even when you’re traveling under heavy foliage and near city skyscrapers. Meanwhile, the included mapping software provides wireless mapping and navigation to deliver you directly to your destination. A Bluetooth wireless interface, powerful speaker, and noise-canceling dual microphones let you drive and talk hands-free without using a headset.

Garmin Mobile 20 GPS Receiver for Smartphone

Customer feedback:

1. This is a nice GPS to use with your PDA phone.
Positive: Four devices in one, “a smart mount” which means that the GPS sensor is embaded in the mount also included are charging cables to charge the phone battery for long trips, the mount can also be used as a speakerphone for hands free calling. The other best feature that i like the FREE! Garmin online service as long as you get a data plan from your service provider. You get wheater, traffic, hotel, and gas price at your current location, This is awsome!! right? and the good thing about it, it’s free!!
Negative: The volume is too low when using the device as a speakerphone and the Garmin maps could me more up to date, when i am supposed to be their latest updated maps. other than that i would rate it with a five stars.
2. Some of the problems I encountered were experienced by the other reviewers. Originally, it would not work in New York City but was just OK at home. My solution was to call Garmin support. The person I spoke with resolved all the issues over the phone in a through and professional manner. It works really well, in fact, much better than the Street Pilot I own and almost as well as the GPS in my car. I requested the free map update online -and it was delivered by USPS in about a week.
This review, if rating only the Garmin support, would have been 5 stars.

Product features:

* Receiver: High-sensitivity WAAS-capable GPS receiver by SiRF
* Interfaces: Connects to Nokia Symbian, Windows Mobile and Palm OS Treo smartphones with Bluetooth wireless technology.
* Voice prompts: yes

Garmin Mobile 10 Bluetooth GPS System

Add wireless navigation to your Bluetooth-enabled laptop, smartphone, pocket PC or PDA with the Garmin Mobile 10, a GPS and Bluetooth wireless package that includes a portable receiver along with navigation and map software. By connecting to your laptop, Pocket PC, Palm OS, or compatible smartphone via Bluetooth wireless technology, this system makes it a snap to find your way through North America.
Convenient and easy to use, the Mobile 10 includes a portable, high sensitivity, WAAS capable GPS 10x receiver by SiRF for clear, reliable navigation. It also combines all the software you need on just one DVD: the Garmin Mobile XT and nRoute help with navigation, while the City Navigator NT supplies detailed street maps, including a hefty points of interest database, to help make sure you get where you’re going as quickly and safely as possible.
Getting started with the Mobile 10 is incredibly easy–simply download included maps and navigation software to a data card for your mobile device or insert the DVD into your laptop to put navigation at your fingertips. In seconds you’ll be able to easily look up addresses and services and receive voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions to your destination. Thanks to saved routes and tracks, automatic off-route recalculation, and an auto sort function that handles multiple destinations, you’ll have access to the most direct route possible, even when there’s traffic or other unexpected delays. If you prefer to personalize your travel options, you can also select the route with the shortest distance, offroad, or one that avoids highways and tolls. Voice prompts and 3D and 2D map view (laptops excluded) help keep you on track.

Garmin Mobile 10 Bluetooth GPS System

Customer feedback:
1. The Bluetooth receiver is battery powered and can use a car adapter for recharging and normal use. The receiver is nice and small and has rubberized feet so that it stays in place on your dash without any kind of mounting necessary.
The idea of having my phone, PDA, and GPS in one small device was something that I absolutely wanted, but I also did not want to spend a ridiculous amount of money for it. Even though the actual GPS receiver is separate, it is small and easily gets placed in my glove compartment.
2. This device is very small and picks up satellites very quickly. Once it has acquired a satellite signal, I put it in the center console in my car, which is covered. It is nice to not have to have a line of site to see the satellites. My husband has a garmin pda and it easily takes 4 or 5 times longer to acquire satellite signals and loses them much more easily. The only time I have not been able to get a good signal was inside a large concrete condo in a hurricane zone. The battery life seems to be great.

Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset with Multipoint Technology

For the ultimate in wireless freedom, look no further than the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset, which represents a generational leap in Bluetooth headset technology. The 510 is comfortable and light enough for all day wear, and it offers unprecedented clarity and sound quality. These are great features, but the real revolution involves Plantronics’ exclusive “Multipoint” technology, which allows the headset to function as a powerful communication solution for up to two Bluetooth devices. With Multipoint technology you can switch between your voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. The headset’s “smart” technology knows which device you are using and allows you to take calls from any device at the touch of a button. With the optional Plantronics Bluetooth Deskphone Adapter you can even switch between your office phone and your Bluetooth mobile phone. You’ll never need to use a dedicated “landline” phone headset again.
The 510 features a noise-canceling microphone for clearer conversations, and it folds for easy storage. The boom also swivels for perfect positioning on either ear. One-touch call control buttons are placed for easy access, and you can easily redial the last number dialed and initiate voice-activated calls from the headset. Because the 510 is Bluetooth-enabled (it supports the Bluetooth 1.2 specification) you can roam up to 33 feet from your Bluetooth device. Meanwhile, the 510 supports adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) which helps avoid interference from wi-fi networks. Ample talk time is provided by the built-in rechargeable battery; you’ll get up to 6 hours talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time.

Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset with Multipoint Technology

Customer feedback:

1. At last I have found a usable headset, the Voyager 510. The audio quality of this headset on the user end of things is absolutely phenomenal. It is several magnitudes louder than any other bluetooth headset I have tried. I have good hearing so I don’t expect a headset to be super loud, but most bluetooth headsets are so low that conversation from a caller can almost be unintelligible. This Plantronics headset produces clear, loud, largely static free sound.
The headset also transmits audio extremely well. I spoke to several people on the streets of Manhattan and they couldn’t tell I was even on a headset. I also left several voicemails for myself and the audio quality was quite good. Moderate wind is not a problem for this headset at all. However, I don’t believe that this headset employs the same type of DSP as the the nXZEN or Jawbone, so if you are on a noisy street the person you are talking to may hear the background noise. However, even with back ground noise you will be reasonably easy to understand—the headset just doesn’t actually block the noise as much as one that uses DSP as much as the nXZEN or Jawbone does.
2. I’ve been using this headset for about two weeks with a Blackberry 8700C. The headset has a very comfortable fit and the volume is nice and loud. The downside is that the battery life seems a bit sub-standard. I have been caught several times using it and running out of batteries. I also have some random disconnects with my Blackberry. Tough to say whether these disconnects are phone or headset related. I think this is a great value for the money though and prefer it over the Motorola’s and Jabra’s (better fit, louder sound). There is some difficulty pressing the buttons on this headset too - nothing that I could not work around though.

Product features:

* Windsmart Technology allows you to seamlessly switch between two Bluetooth® devices
* Noise-canceling microphone for superior sound quality
* Up to 6 hours talk time and up to 100 hours standby time
* One-touch call answer/end, last number redial and voice activated dialing
* Compatible with Bluetooth devices supporting the headset or hands-free profile

Nokia N810 Portable Internet Tablet

Nokia has made significant improvements on its predecessor with the N810 Internet Tablet while retaining much of what made the N800 such an easy-to-use mobile multimedia/communications device. The N810 augments the onscreen keyboard with a backlit, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and it also adds a front-facing webcam, 2 GB of internal storage (expandable via memory cards up to 8 GB), and integrated GPS. Built to be constantly in use, you’ll easily stay in touch with business associates, friends, and family thanks to its VoIP calling, instant messaging and email connectivity. And with stereo audio, multimedia support and a new ergonomic design, the Nokia N800 morphs into a portable Internet entertainment device, enabling playback of streamed and downloaded content wherever you roam.
The main form of connectivity is Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), and hooking up to a network is as simple as connecting with a laptop. You can also use the integrated Bluetooth wireless connectivity to hook up with a cell phone that is compatible with online data services. When connected to either a WLAN network or to a cell phone, you can make calls using the built-in Internet telephony application as well as conduct video conferencing with the built-in Web cam.
Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) technology means that the Nokia N810 will discover, interact with, and control other compatible home electronic devices. This includes PCs, media centers, home entertainment systems, new smart appliances, home automation systems, networked peripherals, and Web-based services. With compatible equipment, you can stream video from your Nokia device directly to your TV, or hear music tracks stored on your PC through your living room’s sound system.
Customer reviews:
1. I bought the N810 (had been considering the N800 a long time) and this really is a great internet tablet. I think Nokia has it right in no tmaking it a phone too (and locked down). Firstly - the wifi is super on this and detects wifi better than my laptop. The OS is very fast and spiffy and the software feels like its running on a desktop - fast. You can connect to 3G thru the phone over bluetooth (provided you have a data plan) and that gives me always connected and on status. I call my parents in India now ofrom any place using Gizmo, or Google talk . Its a great tablet for VoIP. Just have to wait some more for Skype to also work on this soon.
As a music player and Video player - its superb. Great album art also included in some apps like Kagu and UKMP. Though the music quality is a wee bit lacking in comparison to a good mp3 player (like my iRiver).
2. I love this thing. it can do everything that a pc can do but you can fit it in your pocket. It does take a little bit of know how to really unlock its true power. You can remote into your desktop pc from anywhere there is a internet connection. You can also use your internet from your celll phone also. I can access the net from anywhere now. i would recommend this device to anybody who is looking for a all in one device but dont want to get a iphone. the n810 is so the iphone killer. get one. you wont regret it.
