Customer Feedback :
The two buttons at the very top take still photos and movies, respectively. They are easy to operate, and the still photo button does the usual “press halfway to lock everything in” function. Below these is the usual four way rocker with the button in the middle. When you are making pictures, this area is used mainly to zoom.
There is also a menu button on the back, and many functions, like turning the flash on and off, can only be accessed through the menus. If you have used digital camera menus before, these will be easy to follow.
Pros: Size, easy to use, great macro ability, and very acceptable photo and video quality, with the waterproof feature a plus.

I bought this camcorder based on the better zoom compared to others in its price range. I was able to start recording with this camcorder right out of the box. It is very simple to setup and quick review of the manual will answer all your questions. I have not used the software but was able to use the USB cable to transfer the video to my computer in a matter of minutes. The sound was fantastic and the video looked better than expected. Overall this is a great camcorder, easy to use, easy to setup. I would recommend one extra battery as the one that comes with it last 90 min.

The quality of the product surpassed my expectations. The clarity of the video in lower light conditions is impressive. The big problem I had with my previous camcorder was the picture would look grainy when taken indoors under normal indoor lighting conditions. This camera does a great job in lower/low light conditions. The fireworks and twilight modes are excellent. A feature that may not catch your eye at first but really adds alot to the product is the smiles shutter. While taking video, the camera will take digital stills when the camera detects a smile. The pictures taken this way lead to more natural looking smiles then pictures your subjects pose for. It is a nice treat to find some photos taken on your camera after you are done videoing. The included software and downloaded update makes is easy to transfer, store, and search downloaded content to my PC running Windows Vista 64-bit. You can easily create an AVCHD disc with direct burn through the computer (equipped with a dvd or bluray burner) without the need to tranfer anything to the computer first. Picture quality is phenomenal. Would highly recommend this product to anyone.
