I bought this with the intention of using this in snow instead of water. It’s nice because I can pull it out when its dumping and not have to worry about damaging my flip camera. The buttons are easy to function with your gloves on. I can pull it out, shoot some video, and toss it back in my pocket without worrying about getting the camera wet or taking off my gloves.
This is a very good case – worked just fine, did not leak water and all buttons worked well. Have some great videos now. One thing – always make sure you get the correct case for your camcorder – there are several different types available.

I shot this using the Kodak PlaySport while snorkeling off of Ixtapa, Mexico. The water wasn’t the clearest, but I did get pretty good results. It looked really great in the pool. It also looks great above water!
Hands down the best thing about this camera is the size. It’s so easy to slip in a pocket and just carry around. The HD video camera is pretty nice, easy to use and I was just stunned at the digital zoom.
Easy to carry, very user friendly to move files from the camera to the computer or directly to Youtube. Nightvision would be nice but most of my recordings will be in Daylight. Bottom line great camera and I have no cons to talk about.

The good:
- waterproof and crushproof (tested!).
- good color representation.
- good automatic white balance (AWB).
- built-in panorama mode (only 3 frames).

The bad:
- images lack sharpness, appear very “soft”.
- poor low light operation (focusing).
- occasional focusing issues (focuses in center even in “face detect” mode).
- some operation modes (“scenes”) are inconsistent, e.g. “portrait” mode switches focusing to “point” instead of “face detect”.
- flash is too strong and there doesn’t seem to be a way to adjust it.
- the image stabilization doesn’t seem to help – consider it non-existent
- heavy (but this is kind of expected).
- tap control not reconfigurable.

Internal memory allows for more pictures than the standard disposable, and the SD memory card slot allows for even more pictures. I have an old 512 MB card which allows for 700+ pictures. This was a great little camera. It took great pictures above and below the water!! Used it underwater while snorkeling and it held up great. The pictures were sharp and colorful! I opened and closed the case many times and it never leaked. Great little camera!
