1. After getting the MX1000 laser mouse and the Z-5500 speakers i fell in love with logitech. These speakers produce quality sound, they sound better than the Z-680 my friend has. I have SB Audigy 2zs platinum with front panel and an optical output. I am using Monster THX certified optical cable bought from amazon for $22 and my system rocks. the sound on my computer cost me $470 but it is worth it. Thank you amazon! they shipped it the same day, ordered on Monday and got it on Wednesday.

2. These speakers are even better than I read about. The main thing that nobody seems to mention is that these speakers basically have a built-in receiver so you can plug your DVD player or whatever directly into the speakers. This, imo, is so important that all the other competing speaker systems really don’t compete. Obviously, it’s not as good as having a real receiver and can’t amplify as much as an external system, but most people that want to hook these speakers up to their computer and other devices simultaneously, and would like to save space and money, would really appreciate this. The toslink output is the highest quality I’ve heard.

1. With some relucatance I ordered the G51. I set them up yesterday, and so far I’m very pleased with them. The soul-searing hiss present on the z-680 is mercifully gone, and the system sounds excellent. The bass is sufficient without being overpowering (provided you turn it down a notch or two from the default setting), and the control pod is sensibly sized and sports a great, logically laid out interface. Mids and highs are perfectly acceptable for a relatively cheap computer speaker set.
The matrix mode works surprisingly well (though I think it’s likely nothing that revolutionary, just a re-imaging if their existing stero x2 mode) for both games and music.

2. Before this I used a 2.1 system, and thought it was pretty good. Well, the G51 blew it away with its’ smooth audio that envelops you and adds a powerful and unique audio experience to any system. 1. Using Logitech’s Harmony One universal remote control, I can’t help but hear Queen’s “I’m In Love With My Car” playing in my head. That may be overstating the appeal of this device a bit, but not by much. I haven’t been this impressed with a technological gadget since the Flip video camera. The concept of a universal remote control that replaces the various “factory” remotes that come with most home entertainment devices isn’t new, but Logitech takes it to a whole new level with this device.
The Harmony One remote includes the remote control unit, a rechargeable battery, charging station with power adapter, USB cable, and a CD that is used to program the device. Setup is extremely user-friendly. Once you have the software installed, you’re asked to provide the make and models of the devices you want to control, as well as a few questions on how those devices are used. The software then programs the remote accordingly. The total setup time is roughly 30 minutes, and doesn’t require any significant computer skills.

2. I’m a 62 yr old great-grandmother, with a reasonable, but by no means expert, knowledge of computers and electronic equipment. I purchased the Harmony One Universal Remote yesterday from Best Buy. I buy tons of stuff from Amazon, but was in a bit of a hurry to get this up and going.
I have a not too complicated Home Theater setup: a 50″ LG Plasma TV, Sony DVD/VHS combo, Sony AV Receiver, and Sony 5-disc CD changer, and an HD Motorola ATT U-Verse receiver . Up until today, I (and worse, my grandchildren) had to use a minimum of 3 remotes to simply watch a DVD (TV, DVD player, and AV sound), etc.

1. I was very disapointed by te sound of the built in speakers of my new Gateway computer so I started doing some research. I wanted a USB powered solution but was not sure about USB for the driving the speakers. I saw the V20s at a local store for over $80 but decided to pick them up. I cant belive how easy they were to install. Just plugged them into my laptop and Bam! Clear, crisp (And Loud) sound. You wont drive a concert hall but I have AC powered speakers that dont sound this good. The only problem is that they deliver a bit too much base and can bounce around the table if not adjusted correctly.

2. I use these speakers for my Dell Latitude D600 and they are wonderful. The sound is very good for such small speakers, and it really improves the experience of watching a DVD or listening to itunes. You can change the volume with the buttons on the speaker, or with the sound volume button built into the D600. The power drain isn’t too high. I was able to listen to music at a pretty high volume for a little over two hours before my laptop battery was about 70% discharged. There is no software to install - just plug them in to a USB port and you are up and running (no separate power supply or batteries needed - they only need USB power). There are little braces in the back to tip them to the desired angle. There is also a nice little carrying case.

1. Honestly, things are getting entirely too easy to set up. This one even comes with the bluetooth dongle already prepaired to the Mini. Just plug the dongle into a USB slot and it’s off– no more sitting there holding two tiny buttons down and wondering when the blue light is going to stop flickering. And let me tell you what I really, really like about the diNovo Mini– there is a storage place inside the bottom where you can store the dongle when you are not using it! How clever is that! How many small bits of tech do you have hanging around that should be able to attach to some part of the parent item?

2. When I first pulled this product out of the box I wasn’t so sure of it. The buttons looked small and close together. I thought that I was going to have problems typing with it. Luckily, that was not the case.
After a simple installation of the software, which also synch’d up with my G5 mouse, I was off and running. I am not a Media Center user. Most of my multimedia needs are met with Nero or various Adobe products. I must say though, with the ease of control of this device I may start using Media Center more. The diNovo Mini is very intuitive to any user who knows their way around a keyboard. Most of you typical buttons are where you would expect them.
I like the fact I can start Media Center with just a push of pre-programmed button. However, this button is also a gripe for me. When you are done with Media Center and you press the button again, I would have expected Media Center to close and XP to start up again. Instead the controller sent a shut down command to my PC. In order to close Media Center I had to use my mouse (minor annoyance).

1. If you are in the market for a good utilitarian cordless keyboard to use, this might not be the best choice. But if you like unique, stylish computer gear, that still works well, then this makes a nice addition to your desktop. Even if you don’t get a chance to show it off to your friends, you’ll enjoy looking at it sitting in its charging stand, or on your desk. It must hold a pretty good charge, because I’ve only charged it once in the month that I’ve had it. So if you’re thinking the charger is too cumbersome to take with you on a trip, you don’t have to worry about it; you won’t need it. And at about 1/2″ thick, it won’t take up much space in your bag. You could hook it up using the built-in bluetooth in your computer, but unless you’re starved for USB ports, the receiver is about the size of a small flash drive (unlike the previous DiNovo Desktop). It connects instantly too, so you won’t spend ages trying to figure out why it’s not connected.

2. This is definitely a professional’s keyboard. It’s got a soft enough touch not to cause strain when you’re typing for hours, but enough resistance, travel, and sudden reduction of resistance (I forget the proper term for how the key’s resistance goes away once you’ve registered a keystroke) to allow you to type accurately. Being only 11mm tall, you don’t need one of those cumbersome wrist rests — your hands are barely above the table that you’re typing on, so your posture is just naturally good. The keys are also a very good size — I’m a touch typist (not trained; everyone becomes a touch typist if they type enough) and the keys are spaced very well to allow you to touch type without mistakes.
That the keyboard is pretty doesn’t need further comment; it’s also very solid. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was that the keyboard was really solid. It may not be a cheap keyboard, but it’s not made cheaply, either.

1. Ive used logitech products for a long time… I have never been disappointed and this is no exception…
Do you really need this remote? No you dont! but if you are reading this you are probably like me (kind of a showoff)…. and if you already spent 3000+ on your home theater get this! The remote itself performs very well, but the screen is very suceptible to getting all smudgy…. I also had to buy an invisible shield for it (www.invisibleshield.com)

2. I held off reviewing the Harmony 1000 until I was satisfied I made all my needed adjustments for my equipment. I read all kinds of reviews about the Harmony 1000 and held off for the right price then I figured I was satisfied with the price. Now I had to determine if the mix of reviews were correct. The remote was shipped in a timely manner, so thanks Amazon. I installed the software on my computer (I had to create an account with Logitech)then I started the configuration. Once I copied all the SN’s from each component it was a breeze to set up and the picture slide show is cool. However the only bug I usually see is when I select watch TV, PC, DVD, or video game it sometimes does not switch the television to the correct source. Other than that minor bug it is a great way to get rid of all those remotes and save on batteries.

1. I just received and tested yesterday a QuickCam Ultra Vision Special Edition. I really like it. It is not the smallest video camera Logitech makes (The tube is almost 2 inches in diameter) but the replacement of the plastic lens for the glass lens gives the 1.3Megapixel images a dramatically sharper look. I had a chance to compare this camera with the slightly cheaper Fusion model from Logitech. They both used the same computer software installation so that rapid plug-in comparisons were easy. The 1.3Mpixle and the 720×960 pictures were just much sharper with the Ultra Vision Special Edition camera. I was pleasently surprised. It was not that the Fusion images were in any way really bad. I am sure the Fusion is very good for video conferences etc but if you are looking for the sharpest images I recommend this “Special Edition” camera. I only compared the resolution of the native 1.3 Megapixel mode and 720×960 video mode for capturing video data for a science experiment. The difference in quality was apparent for these images

2. The unit is not the cheapest but neither is the quality. You get what you pay for. Using it with Skype was a hassle which seemed to be problems with Skype. Using it with Microsoft Live Messenger it worked fine with none of the problems I experienced with Skype. Simple to use with easy intuitive adjustments. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate and it works fine.

1. The Logitech Harmony RF Wireless Extender allows your RF-equipped Harmony Remote (the 890, 895 or new 1000) to control components without having an IR “line of sight” to the components. One RF Wireless Extender is included with the Harmony 890, but it is unfortunately not included with the Harmony 1000.
Make no mistake, this device is an absolute REQUIREMENT for any large room or complex setup. In my configuration, the Harmony 1000 didn’t have the strength to power all of my components through IR from 20 feet distance. The RF extender solved this problem, and now I can control my entire setup even from another room.
One RF Wireless Extender can control up to 8 components within the line of sight of the unit, or within line of sight of the 8 included IR emitters. You can add multiple extenders to your configuration if you have components in different rooms or areas that could not be served by one unit. Annoyingly, even if you have more than 8 components within the reach of the unit or the emitters the Harmony software won’t let you assign more than 8 devices to a single extender.

2. I really like this RF Extender. I’ve used it on the H890 remote as well as the new H1000 remote. All I can say is that it really works. You do have to hook it up to your computer and program it separately from your remote. It has its own firmware. It’s easy to do though. I haven’t encountered any problems yet setting one up. I’m a professional A/V designer and installer. This is the new way to go. I’ve installed many hardwired remote IR systems in the past by Xantech and Russound. Those systems cost upwards of $125 on there own. Why not pay a little more and get a great universal remote to boot (H890 for around $250). It comes with a power adapter and IR blasters that plug into this unit then stick on the components you want to control. You can use a flashlight to shine on the face of those source components to help you in locating the IR receiver windows on your cable box/receiver/DVD player etc. (look for a round hole or LED shaped device) Anyways, this is a great product in my opinion.
